Literary Studies

I welcome manuscripts that contribute to the Press's outstanding publishing program in American literary studies, particularly of the southern United States. The translation of southern literature to film is a new dimension for our list in which I invite proposals.

To submit a proposal see our submission guidelines.

General Interest and Regional Books

I am seeking quality projects with a link to Louisiana, the Gulf region, or the greater South that are intended mainly for a general readership. Focus areas include but are not limited to: general culture, travel, biography, nature, outdoor recreation, sports history, architecture, gardening, art, animals/veterinary studies, historic preservation, the environment, folklore and World War II. Guidebooks are especially welcome. Nonfiction children's books that fit our region and our areas of focus will be considered. If in doubt please send me an e-mail or letter of inquiry.

About Me

I have been with LSU Press since 1991, as a copyeditor, advertising manager, publicist, marketing manager, and, since 2006, acquisitions editor. I've also held editorial positions at G. P. Putnam's Sons and Clarion Books, in New York City, and attended the Denver Publishing Institute. University and children's library services in Columbia, Missouri, and Little Rock, Arkansas, round out my biblio-occupations, which, looking back, I think all began with editing the high school year book!
